Feelings/mood: The main mood I was trying to achieve with the left and right photos was some sadness and trepidation, but with the photo in the middle I was trying to achieve some happiness in the midst of that.
Subject Placement: For the photo on the left, the most important area is the yellow tape. For the middle photo, the most important area is the walker on the right. For the photo on the right, the important area is the sign on the left as well as the yellow tape.
Multilayered: The main message I was trying to achieve was how different it is to do something as simple as take a walk in the world we live in right now. The woman in the middle photo, standing under the flowering trees is surrounded by reminders of closed areas due to the corona virus on the left and right. She wears a face mask to protect herself and others, but the mask also says "love yourself", a reminder to take the time for self-care and to go on walks during this difficult time.
Depth of field: I left the background on the left image out of focus because I wanted the yellow tape to be the main focus and the background in focus would have been too distracting. It was a similar reason that I made the photo on the right black and white.
Light: I used natural, outdoor light for my photos.
Improvement: If I were to re-shoot my photos, I would want to make sure the words on the mask and on the sign were more legible.

White Balance
What Makes a Good Photograph
Even though the photo is in black and white, the black tree against the bright white part of the sky provides a sharp contrast that instantly draws the viewer's eyes. The eye path goes first to the tree, then then the white sky behind it, then follows along the ground and the rest of the sky above. The composition uses the rule of thirds, as the tree is in the lower right square. The burning and dodging in the photo seems natural as the sky gradually darkens as it goes higher up. There are no distractions in the photo, as it is just the tree, the ground and the sky. There aren't punchlines or gestures in the image. There is no color, but the black and white gives the photo a dramatic effect. The lighting in the photo is natural.
